GSPSCN dual-cylinder review
Only buy the GSPSCN if you know what you're doing. That is the verdict, and it is not a hedge — it is a description of the buyer this compressor suits. It costs roughly half what a Viair does, it filled our 205/55R16 test tire from 28 to 36 PSI in 1:44, which is quicker than anything you can plug into a dash socket, and for low-pressure car and light-truck work it is honestly good value. But the box claims 3.5 CFM free-flow and at the chuck against 90 PSI we measured 0.7 CFM. That gap is the review. Everything else — the ±2.5 PSI gauge, the fittings, the unit-to-unit lottery — follows from a company that specs its product optimistically and builds it to a price.

On the bench
The median of three timed runs from 28 to 36 PSI was 1:44, seventh of 22 units and within six seconds of the Viair 88P. At low pressure, two small cylinders working together genuinely do move air, and the GSPSCN's speed on a car or crossover tire is real.
Then we put a flow meter on the chuck. Free-flow — no back pressure, the condition every marketing CFM number is quoted at — the GSPSCN is respectable. Against 90 PSI of back pressure it delivered 0.7 CFM. For comparison, the Viair 300P holds 1.4 CFM at the same pressure from a much more modest 2.30 CFM free-flow claim, and even the little 88P manages 0.8. So the GSPSCN's advertised figure is the highest in our compressor group and its measured flow at working pressure is the lowest. A dual-cylinder head with small bores and thin valve plates builds volume easily and pressure poorly; the box number is not a lie so much as a measurement taken where the product looks best. The practical consequence: on light-truck tires at 35–45 PSI the GSPSCN keeps pace with compressors costing twice as much. Ask it for 65 PSI on a load-range E tire and the fill rate falls off a cliff. It is a low-pressure tool wearing a 150 PSI badge.
Gauge error was ±2.5 PSI worst case against our calibrated reference at 20, 32, and 50 PSI, and the error was not a consistent offset you could correct for — it drifted in both directions across the range. That is reason enough to carry a separate stick gauge with this unit; our full error table is in how accurate are tire inflator gauges. Noise measured 87 dB at one meter — as loud as a 300P, from a smaller machine.
Fittings, build, and the QC lottery
The GSPSCN weighs 7.5 lb and ships in a hard case with a coiled hose, battery clamps, a set of nozzles, and — a genuinely nice touch — an inline LED work light. The cylinders are alloy, the base is stamped steel, and it looks like a serious tool.
The fittings are where the price shows. The chuck is a push-on clip rather than a brass screw-on, and above roughly 50 PSI ours needed a hand held on it to stop it walking off the valve stem — precisely the pressure range you bought a compressor for. The hose-to-body coupling on our unit seeped audibly until we removed it, wrapped the threads with PTFE tape, and torqued it properly. Neither fix is difficult if you own a wrench. Both are unreasonable if you expected to open a box and inflate a tire.
That is the honest framing of GSPSCN's reputation. Most units work fine; a meaningful minority arrive with a leaking fitting, a badly reading gauge, or a chuck that will not seal, and the remedy is to fix it yourself or start a return. Ours worked after twenty minutes of attention — attention we only knew to give it because we have been testing compressors for years. Nothing here is dangerous; it is simply not finished.
Duty cycle is quoted generously in the manual and we would not rely on it. In our testing the thermal cut-out engaged after about twelve minutes of continuous running at pressure. Treat it as a 25%-class compressor — run ten, rest thirty — and it will last; treat it as continuous and you will cook it. Care that extends any compressor's life is in tire inflator maintenance.
Who it's for — and who should skip it
The GSPSCN suits one buyer well: someone who wants compressor-class speed on car and light-truck tires for the price of a good socket pump, who owns a separate accurate gauge, and who is comfortable taping a fitting's threads and reassembling it if it arrives weeping air. If that description made you shrug, this is a lot of tool for the money and it earns the budget slot in best tire inflators for trucks.
Who should skip it: everyone who wants to open a box and have a finished product. Skip it if you need reliable pressure above 50 PSI — RV, trailer, and load-range E owners should be reading best RV tire inflators instead, because 0.7 CFM at 90 PSI does not do that job. Skip it if you rely on the built-in gauge, because ±2.5 PSI with no consistent bias means you cannot correct for it. Skip it if it is your emergency-kit item and might sit unused for two years before you need it in the dark on a shoulder — you want something proven, not something that might need a wrench first. And skip it if it is your only inflator and you are not mechanically inclined.
GSPSCN vs Viair 88P
This is the comparison that decides it, because the two are close in size and the Viair is the obvious step up. The 88P fills our test tire in 1:38 to the GSPSCN's 1:44 — near enough identical. Where they separate is everything that is not the stopwatch: the 88P measured 0.8 CFM at 90 PSI against 0.7, holds ±1.0 PSI on its gauge against ±2.5, weighs 4.5 lb against 7.5, runs 3 dB quieter, and arrives with a brass screw-on chuck that seals at 100 PSI without a hand on it. The GSPSCN's answer is a lower price, a hard case, and a work light.
Our position: if the price gap is small, buy the 88P and stop thinking about it. If the gap is large and you are the buyer described above, the GSPSCN is defensible.
